The first Abacus. We opened this location in 1971.
Located in a house in the middle of town, this Abacus has lots of quirks and fun spaces to explore. In addition to holding an annual exhibition of works by surrealist artist and Maine native Daniel Merriam, this location also houses the largest collection of Dana Heacock's work, along with a wide range of jewelry and craft items.
If you're looking for more to do in Boothbay, you could always check out the scenery at Ocean Point in East Boothbay, or head to Hendrick's Head Beach on Southport for a picnic. Or, for something equally scenic, visit the Maine Botanical Gardens. With 248 acres to explore it's not to be missed.
During the summer months the Opera House of Boothbay Harbor has a full schedule of theatre. Grab a bite to eat at The Thistle Inn, McSeagulls, or the Boothbay Lobster Warf and see a play, or simply take in the scenery. Or, seek out Romar Bowling Lanes for a truly unique bowling experience. It, like the rest of Boothbay provides a memorable Maine experience.
