Houses & Barns
My name is Dana Heacock. I was born in Maine, a place both rugged and tranquil, just a few miles from where I live now. I grew up in the Connecticut River Valley back when its gentle hills were still home to dusty dirt roads and weathered tobacco barns, a childhood of bicycles, piano lessons, and lots of cats.
I studied drawing, color, graphics and photography at Rhode Island School of Design, a great place to learn a new way of looking at the world. You may know my artwork from the Abacus Calendar, a series of twelve posters I paint every year.
I also have giclèe prints available with many of the images so that you may display them in your own home. A giclèe print is a precise fine art reproduction with the look and feel of my original gouache painting. They are all printed on heavy handmade watercolor paper or canvas.
